Plasma Progesterone, Blastocyst Steriodogenesis and Blastocyst Survival in Rats with Altered Thyroid Status
نویسنده
چکیده
Studies in our laboratory continue to investigate the mechanism by means of which thyroid hormone influences reproductive physiology in the female rat. Thyroid hormone has been reported to exert effects upon the reproductive system and pregnancy in many types of animals, including human beings. These findings have been reviewed by Leathern (11). However, the mechanisms by means of which thyroid hormone exerts these effects have not been elucidated. In our laboratory, earlier investigations of thyroidal influences upon reproduction have utilized the technique of experimentally delayed implantation of blastocyst in rats (4), which allows the investigator to control some of the variables which one encounters in studies of reproduction. Changes in Implantation and Survival Rates and Embryo Quality After Progesteron
Purpose: Determining the effect of progesterone on the embryo quality (total cell number and diameter of blastocyst), survival and implantation rates of mouse blastocyst with or without ovarian stimulation. Materials and Methods: Female 6-10 weeks old NMRI mice were divided into four groups as follows: (a) Non-stimulated pregnant mice as control (b) Non-stimulated pregnant mice with daily inje...
متن کاملP-30: Developmental Capacity and Blastocyst Formation of Thawed Tetrahedral Versus Non-Tetrahedral 4-cell Stage Mouse Embryos After Vitrification
Background: It was reported in a literature that approximately one third of the 4-cell stage embryos did not exhibit a tetrahedral shape. Non-tetrahedral embryos showed a lower in vitro developmental potential than tetrahedral embryos. Recently vitrification technology has been widely employed for embryo cryopreservation. The objective of this study was to prove our hypothesis that vitrified - ...
متن کاملBlastocyst Morphology Holds Clues Concerning The Chromosomal Status of The Embryo
Background Embryo morphology has been proposed as an alternative marker of chromosomal status. The objective of this retrospective cohort study was to investigate the association between the chromosomal status on day 3 of embryo development and blastocyst morphology.Embryo morphology has been proposed as an alternative marker of chromosomal status. The objective of this retrospective cohort stu...
متن کاملP-126: Stem Cell Factor Increases Blastocyst Formation in Mouse Two-Cell Embryo Culture
Background: It is demonstrated that c-Kit( receptor of stem cell factor) mRNA is expressed in late 2-cell stage to the expanded and hatched blastocyst and the stem cell factor (SCF) transcript is detected in the oviduct and uterus. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of different doses of SCF on mouse 2-cell embryo development in vitro. Materials and Methods: 4-6 weeks old femal...
متن کاملGlobal gene expression analysis identifies molecular pathways distinguishing blastocyst dormancy and activation.
Delayed implantation (embryonic diapause) occurs when the embryo at the blastocyst stage achieves a state of suspended animation. During this period, blastocyst growth is very slow, with minimal or no cell division. Nearly 100 mammals in seven different orders undergo delayed implantation, but the underlying molecular mechanisms that direct this process remain largely unknown. In mice, ovariect...
